According to Omer, there are 37 refugees in Nepal who have applied for the Canadian sponsorship program. Although the norm for refugees is that their processing is completed within three months of their medical, it appears that this is shifting. Nepal refugees had anticipated having their final interviews completed by now, which is the case for other refugees around the globe, but this has not occurred. It appears that the high number of Express Entry Visa applicants and the prioritization of Afghan refugees is significantly slowing the system.
