We had some great news this month: Omer has been issued his SJTD (Single Journey Travel Document) which allows him to enter Canada. This is what we have been waiting for so that he can pay his overstay fees in Nepal.
We have been warned not to be overly optimistic about the timelines, however. Omer’s sponsors have been watching a family in Nepal who is slightly ahead of Omer in this process. Nepal has been painfully slow in issuing their exit visa after paying these fees.
We will continue to watch, advocate and keep you informed.
