CFIC will hold our Annual General Meeting (virtually) on March 9, 2025 at 3:00 pm EDT. (Note that where jurisdictions adopt daylight savings time, it begins on March 9).
Our keynote presentation at this AGM will feature Onur Romano, CFIC’s Human Rights Chair, discussing the current international situation for apostate refugees.
A notice of meeting will be sent to all members of CFIC including links to the meeting materials. This year, the board of directors has recommended changes to the CFIC by-laws. This will be on the agenda. The by-law changes will be circulated with the meeting materials.
This is your opportunity to get more involved with CFIC. We are in need of council and board members. Council members are the voting members of CFIC – they elect the board and vote on special motions such as changing the by-laws and direction of the organization. If you would like to be involved as a council member please complete the council member application.
Many thanks to CFIC’s Vice President, and Chair of Critical Thinking, Diane Bruce, who has stepped down. We have a few open positions on the board, including our continuing search for a Treasurer. If you have interest and expertise to offer to CFIC, please complete a board member application)
Note that in accordance with the CFIC by-laws, all members are invited, and encouraged to attend and to ask questions, however only Council members may vote at the meeting. Anyone wishing to find out more about becoming a Council (or Board) member of CFIC is encouraged to contact Sandra Dunham by email at sdunham@centreforinquiry.ca.
