February is Black History Month.

On February 1, Comet C/2022 E3 (ZTF), aka “The Green Comet,” reaches perigee, and is expected to be visible to the naked eye in early February. (Or if you can’t get outside, you can watch it wherever you are through a virtual telescope.)
On Feb 2, rather than thinking about weather-forecasting with groundhogs, let’s spare a thought for the plants and animals waiting patiently under the ice and snow for spring to return, and celebrate World Wetlands Day.
