Okanagen – Ask an Atheist
Although 20% of people living in British Columbia do not believe in a “higher power”, it is still generally considered taboo to admit that you do not believe in God. A 2011 UBC Vancouver study showed that atheists are distrusted just about as much as rapists.
At this event, a panel of atheists will answer questions from the audience, with the aim of increasing the understanding that believers have regarding non-believers.
This event is free and open to everyone — to people of faith and to those who are atheist or agnostic.
Refreshments will be served.
This is in the new building — the Parkinson Activity/Seniors’ Centre, next to the Parkinson Recreation Centre. We will have signs up.
