Okanagan – Penticton Skeptics in the Pub

CFI Okanagan helps support a “Skeptics in the Pub” group in Penticton. This is a message from their organizer, Angela:

Skeptics in the Pub is a fun and friendly casual social event that welcomes all local science enthusiasts who value critical thinking, reason, and skepticism. If you agree that, as Carl Sagan said, “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”, then join us for conversation, drinks, and food in a friendly atmosphere. (The gathering will be upstairs in the boardroom at the Barley Mill.)

I’m really looking forward to meeting many of you and we can discuss how we go forward, if we want a regular monthly meeting night, to try different pubs and perhaps other events.

Monday September 22nd is the Fall Equinox, members of RASC Okanagan (http://www.ocrasc.ca/) will be hosting the public atop Munson Mountain to observe the sunset. The ‘Pen Henge’ stones mark where the sun sets on Solstices and Equinoxes, very cool! 5.30 – 6.30 pm with sunset about 6.20pm. Everyone welcome, bring a jacket, it can be windy up there 🙂
