Okanagan – Kids for Inquiry: Astronomer

Join KFI and Colleen from the Royal Astronomical Society to make a sundial, a solar viewer and a spectroscope and learn about some astronomy at the same time!

Parents should stay to help out younger kids, but can drop off older kids. Space is limited, so please RSVP. You can RSVP on Facebook or Meetup.

If you like, with a parent’s permission, you can join the DIY.org website and earn a cool Astronomer patch! (You can order an actual sew-on patch at the website for $4.)

Once you get your projects home, you will need to take a photo of your sundial next to a modern clock to compare the readings, take a photo of the sun through your solar viewer, and take a photo through the eyepiece of your spectroscope — then upload your photos to the DIY.org website.

And then join us at the next KFI gathering, where you will have fun learning some new stuff, and also work on earning another patch!
