Update: Looks like the weather will cooperate, so we are good to go! See you there!

This event is for both adults and kids who can keep their eyes open at that time of night! (We’ve organized it during the summer, so it’s not really cold and it’s not on a school night.)

Please come out and join the Okanagan Centre chapter of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada at the Okanagan Observatory for a evening of stargazing. They’re opening the observatory, especially for us — so if you can bring a donation for them, that would be lovely and much appreciated, I’m sure.

There should be nice, dark skies, enabling us to see Mars and Saturn, as well as star clusters, galaxies, super nova remnants and what our Sun will look like in 5 billion years…. so long as the weather cooperates!

IMPORTANT: If the weather is dicey on the 27th, please check Facebook, or Meetup, or the CFI Canada website for confirmation that the event is happening before heading out to the observatory.

There’s a map to the observatory here: http://www.okanaganobservatory.ca/location.html

CFI Okanagan volunteer, Ryan Gerber, will be your host for this event. Please, don’t be shy, and introduce yourself if you haven’t met! 🙂
