Those of you who have been with CFIC for a while may recall that when Critical Links first started, it was formatted as a single newsletter, with all the articles in sequence. In November of 2020, our editorial team made the decision to change to the format we are using now, providing headlines with “teasers” and links to the full articles on our website, for those who want to delve deeper into the topic. We have seen some advantages of this format: The newsletter takes up less space in your inbox, and the articles are directly accessible from the website, which gives us the opportunity to provide news and information not just to our newsletter subscribers, but also to people browsing the website or using search engines.
Now, the Critical Links team is going back to review the old newsletters. We will be extracting the articles, verifying the accuracy of the information (and validity of the hyperlinks), and then re-publishing on the CFIC website. Each month, one or two of these articles will be featured in Critical Links. We start this month with Research before you Research – Predatory Journals, from March 2018.
Do you have a favourite article from a previous issue of Critical Links? Or are you an author who would like to update an article that you contributed? Let us know.
