Thank you and farewell to Critical Links Editor Edan Tasca

Posted on April 30, 2025May 1, 2025 By Critical Links 1 Comment on Thank you and farewell to Critical Links Editor Edan Tasca

Often people don’t stop to think about who does what in the world. Things happen, and we just accept them. For example, we trust that you enjoy your monthly installment of Critical Links. There is a small, yet mighty team that makes this happen, and for the past 7 years, Edan Tasca has been the Critical Links Editor.

Some of you may recall the days when Critical Links came out as one long newsletter (our last of such newsletters was published in October of 2020.) Edan (along with Seanna Watson) was part of the team that helped to create a new look for Critical Links. Under Edan’s leadership we developed submission guidelines so that we could set expectations about what we publish and how it is fact checked.

When Edan took over as the editor of Critical Links the newsletter was sent  went out on a somewhat erratic schedule. Edan helped to ensure that the newsletter was out by the first of every month, often staying up into the wee small hours of the morning to get it done. Edan helped to squeeze in last minute contributions and to welcome new writers to the team.

We did not count the number of authors who were one time or regular contributors to Critical Links but we anticipate that had we done so we would be well over 50.

Most importantly, Edan spent hours each month editing contributions to ensure that they were perfect (or very close to it.)

After 7 years, Edan feels that it is time for a change and he is stepping down from his role as Editor of Critical Links. We are confident that we have the team in place to continue offering Critical Links approximately 10 times each year. We hope that you continue to enjoy reading it. Edan will be staying on as a Director with CFIC so you have not heard the last from him. I know that every reader will join me in congratulating Edan on a job well done.
