Congratulations to CFI (US) on Leadership Transition

Posted on January 25, 2016February 29, 2016 By NED

Centre For Inquiry Canada (CFIC) congratulates CFI (US) and the Richard Dawkins Foundation For Science and Reason on their recent merger and resolution of leadership transition, including the appointment of Robyn Blumner as President and CEO of the newly merged entity;  CFIC also expresses its appreciation and best wishes to Ron Lindsay as he retires from his leadership role.

CFI Canada members, volunteers and supporters have inquired whether the corporate merger and leadership transition in the US will have any impact for CFI Canada.   While CFI Canada and CFI (US) share a brand identity and a commitment to secular humanist values, CFI Canada’s friends are reminded that CFI Canada is an independent legal entity registered as a Canadian charitable organization and accountable to a Canadian Board of Directors (as required by Canadian regulations). Centre for Inquiry Canada is an independent organization.  We are not a subsidiary entity of CFI (US), so changes taking place in the US will not be a significant factor for our strategic or operating priorities, or for the direction of CFI Canada.

CFI Canada remains committed to providing a community for science and secular humanism and our mission to provide education and training to the public in the application of skeptical, secular, rational and humanistic inquiry through conferences, symposia, lectures, published works and the maintenance of a library.  We look forward to continued dialogue with CFI (US) leadership and our many front-line friends in our shared objectives and priorities in the months and years to come.

To learn more about this merger, please visit the CFI (US) website.
