In response to the Canadian National Prayer Breakfast (a gathering “in the spirit of Jesus Christ”), CFI Ottawa invites everyone to our 2nd annual Pastafarian Supper, in the spirit of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
Ontario Labour Minister Yassir Naqvi will be our special guest at this event.
We’ll also be celebrating Towel Eve, in honor of Douglas Adams by having a used book sale – proceeds to support CFI Canada. If you are looking to cull your library, please bring your extras; if you are looking to grow your library, we’ll have some great deals. We welcome donations of fiction and non-fiction books, for children and adults.
Later in the evening, we will present a report from Ottawa members who attended CFI’s Women in Secularism conference.
The spaghetti supper will start at 6:00 pm. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options will be available; when you RSVP, please indicate if you have dietary restrictions so we can properly estimate quantities.
Cost:
$10
$5 for CFI members
Free for student/limited income members of CFI
Family-friendly – Free for kids when accompanied by an adult.
We are looking for volunteers to bring spaghetti sauce, large pots for boiling pasta, and desserts. (Costs will be re-imbursed by CFI Ottawa.)
Please email cfiottawa@gmail.com if you are able to assist with food, or if you would like to volunteer for any other aspect of the event.
