OUR G*DDAMN WEDDING is a crowdfunding movie project attempting to make a romantic comedy from the perspective of an atheist living in a religious society. It is silly, it is simplistic, it is a romantic comedy. The setup is that the mother of the bride is very, very Catholic. The groom is an atheist. The bride hoped to hide the groom's atheism until after the wedding. And then, things get even more complicated.
Atheists are very under-represented in mainstream entertainment — and when we are depicted, it’s as broken, despondent wretches without a moral compass. Finally, Jeff Jackson is getting a movie out there with both an atheist message and mainstream appeal. Who knows? Maybe — just maybe — it might even open a few minds.
