Celebrate Reason this holiday season with CFI Toronto

Join us for a evening of fun, friends and magic as we celebrate a secular holiday season. Join us for dinner at the Izakaya Showroom (College Street @ Spadina) followed by an amazing evening of magic and comedy with Magic Tonight.

When?: Sunday, December 21,  5:30 – 10:00PM

Where?: Izakaya Showroom, 294 College Street (map). Right next to the corner of College & Spadina near TTC. Paid parking on College Street, free side street parking.

Open to members of CFI Canada and guests. Proceeds from the event go to support the Toronto Branch of CFI Canada.

James Alan’s Magic Tonight  is a weekly show downtown which features a wide variety of special guests which proves magic really is for grownups. The show is highly interactive and very entertaining.

5:00 – 6:00 PM
Mix & mingle – The bar is open!

6:00 – 7:00 PM
Dinner – a three course meal – salad, appetizer, entree (vegetarian and vegan options available)

You can continue to order drinks and dessert during the show.

Our performers for the evening:

James Alan (www.JamesAlan.ca) is the host and producer for Abracadabaret’s now show Magic Tonight. He created two acclaimed one-man shows Lies, Damn Lies & Magic Tricks (2012) and The Uncertainty Project (2014). He is known for creating magic which is “Thought provoking, funny, astonishing and thoroughly entertaining.” He is also a member of CFI Canada (great to have you James!).

Michael Close (www.MichaelClose.com) originally from Indiana, is one of the most respected creators and publishers of magic in the world. He is currently the Editor in Chief of MUM, the journal of the Society of American Magicians. He is also the author of That Reminds Me, with a foreword by Penn Jillette.

After the show, we will be doing a live taping of David Peck‘s Face2Face Podcast (www.davidpecklive.com) where we will be discussing the place of magic on a modern secular society which will include audiene Q&A.
