Bill 98: Just a First Step

Posted on April 25, 2023March 31, 2024 By Info 2 Comments on Bill 98: Just a First Step

Please email the Minister of Education, Stephen Lecce. Tell him that it is past time for Ontario to stop the discriminatory funding of Catholic boards and to move to one publicly funded school system, with English and French boards, open to all.

The public funding of Catholic schools is discriminatory, offensive, and immoral. Bill 98 takes a small step to remove some of the barriers to Ontario having a fully secular, public school system. But it does not go far enough.

Bill 98 (195.1) will allow the Ontario Provincial Government to force Catholic and public school boards to share space. Bill 98 acknowledges that retaining the Catholic School Board creates duplication and waste in the publicly funded education system. Bill 98 does not go far enough!

Send an email to tell the Ontario Minister of Education what you think.
