The Centre for Inquiry is an educational charity with a legal mandate to educate and provide training to the public in the application of skeptical, secular, rational, and humanistic enquiry through conferences, symposia, lectures, published works and the maintenance of a library, and to develop communities where like-minded individuals can meet and share their experiences. We focus on three broad areas: 1. Religion, Ethics and Society, 2. Pseudoscience, Paranormal and Fringe-science claims, 3. Medicine and Health
We seek to advance critical thinking, scientific literacy, secular humanism and freedom of thought. We operate through 10 branches across Canada and incorporate the tireless efforts of hundreds of volunteers. The organization’s aims are broadly two-fold. Firstly, to provide a community and a voice for those of minority world views, including atheists, agnostics, and secular humanists. Secondly, to advance a social and political agenda promoting evidence-based decision making, fundamental freedoms, and church-state separation
