Thanks to all of our members who printed, signed, and returned petitions opposing the public funding of Catholic school boards in Ontario. This petition will be presented in February. We would also like to make some noise about this issue in February. Humanist groups and others in Ontario who are interested in this issue are being asked to write to their local member of parliament, to Steven Lecce, Minister of Education; and/or to the editor of their local newspaper to express their concerns about the continued public funding of an education system that is only available to people of a specific religion. Your letter can express the issues raised in the petition; you can also add your own concerns about the system. If this issue is important to you, please consider taking action.
