A.N. 101: Introduction to Antinatalism — August 10

Posted on July 30, 2022August 1, 2022 By Critical Links 2 Comments on A.N. 101: Introduction to Antinatalism — August 10

Many people believe that humans are largely the source of some of the most terminal problems on our planet, such as global warming and all sorts of pollution. Humanism aims toward democracy and the affirmation that human beings have the right and responsibility to give meaning and shape to their own lives. But there are also humanists who think that humanity actually sucks big time.

Many believe that overpopulation is by far the worst kind of pollution. Others argue that not having children derives not from dislike of children but rather from love too great to bring them into this limited, vain, and cruel world. And in extreme examples, extremists argue that when parents have a child, they bring into the world a monster that kills everything it comes in contact with.

At this event, we’ll discuss the basics of antinatalism and we’ll explore some of its different forms. Our hosts are two antinatalists from CFIC’s leadership team. Join us Wednesday, August 10, 6pm PST. Admission is free for this .

This is a very good subject that should be one of the main subject when we are speaking about climat change, since more people means more pollution and destruction of the planet.
