Less Complex Claims Petition Back on the Table

Posted on November 28, 2021December 1, 2021 By Critical Links

Doug Thomas

You likely recall that the e-petition asking the government to clarify the Less Complex Claims refugee policy died on the order paper when Parliament was prorogued in August. Over the last month or so, SCS in consultation with other Canadian secular humanist groups (CFIC, Humanist Canada, and some local groups) has rewritten the petition and has submitted it for consideration by the House of Commons. That approval process is now complete.

Now, petition no. e-3638 has been approved and translated, and is ready for your signature. Please read the petition and sign here. With a new Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, the Hon. Sean Fraser, things are looking up.

Please share this link with all your Canadian contacts so we can get as many signatures as possible before 9:24 am EDT [sic] on January 17. We need a minimum of 500 signatures, but the more there are, the better. Please sign and share!
