A panel discussion with With Dr. Christopher DiCarlo, Dr. Guilherme Guzzo, and Gabriel Dall'Alba - Sunday, January 17 @ 3 pm EST
Although ultimately illuminating, the ubiquity and abundance of scientific products pose a new challenge: is it enough to simply look at the products of science (or at the results of a scientific endeavor) in order to understand it?
Only considering the products of science (ideas, theories, hypotheses, results, and so on) will often not be enough to allow us to properly understand it and embrace the benefits of knowing it in the world around us. It is interesting to consider the processes by which scientific products are proposed, justified, evaluated, revised, established, or eventually rejected. This means, in other words, being able to look at core elements of the scientific endeavor, instead of only at its results and conclusions and embrace a scientific worldview that is both rigorous and open to change.
