The calendar year 2020 was a perfect example of the truth being stranger than fiction. Yet, in spite of a global pandemic, the likes of which none of us has experienced before, there was a plethora of fake news, scams, and hoaxes that were circulated to create fear and generate profit for the unscrupulous.
The Scammies are CFIC’s way of calling out fake news, bad science, and illogical thought processes. We hope that it provides a bit of levity to a situation that can be infuriating, frightening, and downright dangerous. Each year we ask you, our readers, to submit your nomination for a Scammie.
