DESCRIPTION:  \nUpdate: Looks like the weather will cooperate\, so we are good to go! See you there! \nThis event is for both adults and kids who can keep their eyes open at that time of night! (We’ve organized it during the summer\, so it’s not really cold and it’s not on a school night.) \nPlease come out and join the Okanagan Centre chapter of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada at the Okanagan Observatory for a evening of stargazing. You will also have an opportunity after the presentation to meet some of the animals up close and personal! Are you brave enough to touch a ball python? Or what about holding Tina the bearded dragon? \nSpace is very limited\, so we highly recommend getting tickets in advance. Tickets are free\, with a suggested $5 donation per child. You will learn about each species relationship with other animals in its family\, the natural history and behavior of the species and their role in the pet trade\, as well as the care of the animals and whether they make good pets or not. DESCRIPTION:  \nI know it’s 9am on a Sunday morning! But the birds will be busy at that time of day\, so it’s a good time to go watch them. \nWe will meet at the entrance to the Rotary Marsh Bird Sanctuary on Sunset Drive\, downtown Kelowna. We will be joined by experts from the Central Okanagan Naturalists Club and the Young Naturalists to look for birds and try to identify some of them. Kids should bring cameras and/or binoculars\, if they have them. Sketch books might be nice for kids who like to draw. \nThis event is designed for kids between 6 and 12 years old. Parents should stay with younger children. Older children may be dropped off\, but parents are welcome to stay. \nAt 10am\, we will walk over the the Rotary Centre to dissect owl pellets! Can you find evidence of what owls eat by investigating one of their regurgitated pellets? \nKids need to bring rubber gloves and tweezers\, paper/notebooks and pencils. Magnifying glasses would be great too! DESCRIPTION:Lego workshop! \n\n\n\nBricks 4 Kidz (http://www.bricks4kidz.com/) are going to give us a 1.5 hour workshop\, geared towards kids 7 – 10 years old.(If your child is outside that age range\, they may attend if you judge that they can fit into a class that is aimed at the 7 – 10 years age range.) \nBricks 4 Kidz use special motorized Lego and the theme of the workshop will be “The Laws of Motion”. \nParents are welcome\, so long as they don’t take over and the kids don’t get to play. ;o) \nCost is $10 per child.
