University of Saskatchewan Freethought Alliance

Are you associated with the University of Saskatchewan as a student,  employee  or alum? If so, we encourage you to join our affiliated campus group called the University of Saskatchewan Freethought Alliance (note that the group is supported, but not operated by CFI Saskatoon). If you are an undergraduate student, you could get even more involved by joining the group’s executive. Over the years, the USFA has done several outreach and informational events:

  • Darwin Day (in conjunction with CFI Saskatoon and Saskatoon Skeptics)
  • Blasphemy Rights Day
  • Carl Sagan Day
  • Hug an Atheist (over $1200 raised for Doctors without Borders)
  • Trivia nights
  • Pub nights

To get involved, join the student group on Facebook or Meetup.

Don’t believe in God? You are not alone.

In the fall of 2009, the Saskatoon Freethinkers launched an atheist ad campaign. This campaign included a bus ad as well as a road side billboard. This message was a slight variation on a larger campaign elsewhere in the world, promoting various secular groups as a place for the non-religious. Dogma, and religious dogma in particular, is one of the greatest dangers to free and open inquiry and scientific literacy, and CFI Canada works hard to promote freedom from religion as a human right.

Welcome to the Centre for Inquiry Saskatoon

Our purpose is to support our members and the local community through social activity, educational outreach, activism and collaboration to promote and defend secularism, science, reason, and free inquiry. The members of CFI Saskatoon are atheists, agnostics, secular humanists, freethinkers, skeptics, Brights, and other heathens. You can learn about our upcoming activities right here, on our Meetup site or on our Facebook group. You can also contact us directly by email at

We host a regular meetup presentation and discussion, typically on the third Sunday of each month, at the Venice House in Sutherland. There are also regular pub nights, banned book club meetings, an annual Darwin Day event, and more! Past special events speakers include (the Amazing) James Randi and Christopher DiCarlo. We always welcome new faces, so be sure to check us out! We are also known as the Saskatoon Freethinkers.
